Easy Fengshui Tips For Your Home

Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of living in harmony with your environment. When you live in harmony with the space around you, the natural energy that all things are made of flows easily and can help to bring peace and tranquility into your life. Here are some simple and practical Feng Shui tips that every body can easily follow.
  • There should be no shoes or slippers lying around outside the main door of your house. Remove it if you can. Allow that space at the main door to be free and clear. The chi (energy) rides with the wind and will collect all the smell of those shoes and slippers into your house causing sickness.
  •  In feng shui, the stove holds the energy for prosperity, so make sure it's clean and working properly.
  • Clear clutter.  Clean out the pantry and refrigerator and discard old and unhealthy foods.  Also, remove unused pots and pans, and broken appliances.
  •  Place your garbage out of view and buy a lid for it.  It's best to place it under the sink or in a pantry.
  •  Get rid of any dried flowers in your space. They are dead and you do not want your wealth to be dead. Replace them with fake or silk.
  •  Have live plants in as many rooms as possible, if their leaves look like round coins, even better.
  •  Move your furniture around; it's fun to create something new and exciting to come home to. You will also change the flow of energy, which is good to do every so often.
  •  Keep brooms and mops out of sight; preferably upside down. This keeps intruders out and prevent from the family's livelihood from being swept away.
  •  Bathroom features many powerful drains such as toilet, bath tub and sinks, which can sap your personal and household energy and create many problems. In order to avoid the unnecessary loss of chi and significant problems, you need to apply full length mirror on the bathroom door and keep door shut all the time.
  • Playing calming music like ocean waves, forest sounds or rain falling to soothe a stressful working or home environment.

TOTD : Curd for Dandruff

What is Dandruff?

Dandruff is due to excessive shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp. It is quite normal for the skin cells of the scalp to die and flake off. A normal quantity of skin flaking is quite natural, but when the flaking becomes excessive due to some irritation or some skin allergy then it needs attention.

Curd for Dandruff

An extremely good cure for dandruff is curd.

Curd (if possible take slightly sour curd) apply it on to the scalp and hair. Leave it for 20 – 30 minutes then wash your hair with a good shampoo. Apply it weekly once.

Curd also works as a natural conditioner. Regular use of curd on the hair gives very good results.

I have been applying curd once a week since 6 months and it's given me great results.

Since I am not having a severe dandruff problem, this tip has helped me in controlling dandruff.

Have you tried this? What is your experience?

Hair Conditioners

What is a Conditioner?

Our hair is made from a protein called keratin, which has a high percentage of amino acids that have negative charges. These negative charges make the hair 'frizzy'.

Most hair conditioners contain positively charged molecules. The positively charged surfactants in hair conditioner are attracted to the negative charges in the hair, and do not rinse out completely with water. When the hair dries, it is coated with a thin film, which adds weight, makes the hair easier to comb, and prevents static electricity from building up and 'frizzing' the hair.

Types of Conditioners

Moisturizers

Are concentrated with humectants. Humectants are compounds that attract and hold moisture into the hair. They may not necessarily contain botanicals or protein.

Reconstructors

The main purpose of a reconstructor is to strengthen the hair. Normally contain protein. Hydrolyzed human hair keratin protein is the best source, because it contains all 19 amino acids found in the hair. Human hair keratin protein has a low molecular weight. This enables it to penetrate the hair shaft (the cortex).

Acidifiers

This category is great for people with fine textured hair. They do create shine, and add elasticity. When a product carries a pH of 2.5 to 3.5 it is normally termed an acidifier. This pH will close (compact) the cuticle layer of the hair. The result is shiny, bouncy hair. Acidifiers do not weigh the hair. They do create shine, and add elasticity.

Detanglers

Most detanglers are acidifiers. They close the cuticle of the hair which cause tangles. Some "shield" the hair shaft with polymers. Some detanglers are instant; some take 1-5 minutes to work.

Glossers

For the most part glossers are cosmetic. Most Glossers contain dimethicone or cyclomethicone (very light oils derived from silicone). Used in small amounts they reflect light. Also, they are one of the best products to control the "frizzies."
  Useful Tips

  • Conditioners are generally used after shampooing.
  • Keep the conditioner on your hair for 5 minutes before you fully rinse it off.
  • For fine hair, rinse off the conditioner immediately.
  • The drier your hair, the longer you need to apply a conditioner.
  • Avoid hair conditioners containing alcohol.
  • A conditioner is not meant to lather, so don't apply huge amounts to make it lather.
  • Rinse it off thoroughly each time, or it may cause build-up on your hair, making them heavier.
 Natural Alternatives

  • Cider vinegar - Put one or two tablespoonfuls into a pint or more of water. This helps the acidity of hair, leaving it shiny and silky.
  • Lemon can also be added to the rinsing water.
  • Tea is another slightly acid hair rinse which has a conditioning effect.
  •  Henna powder is also good for the condition of hair.

DIY French Tip Nails

A French manicure includes a style of polishing the nails wherein white nail polish is applied to the tips of the fingernails and the rest of the nails are given a sheer polish that is coloured either pale pink (for a more modern look) or very light beige (for a natural look).

The French manicure is very good for short nails and nails that have a moderate length. It gives a natural look that is smooth and classy.

Here I would like to share with you guys a simple and basic French tip nails with 2 easily available shades.

Requirements:

  • Base Coat (I am using Lakme Spa line)
  • White nail polish (I am using Lakme Vanilla).

Method:
  1.  Remove your old nail with a nail polish remover and cotton swap.
  2.  Wash your nails with soap and water to remove any residue.
  3.  White Tip: Now take the white nail polish and run the brush horizontally across the finger nail tip that is exposed. Take very little nail polish on the brush. This will give a fine white tip. Keep the white tips the same size on all nails.
  4. Let it dry for 2 minutes.
  5. Now paint the entire length of your nails with the transparent coat. Apply 1 or 2 coats.
  6.  Allow it to dry.
  7. Remove misplaced polish by using a cotton swab. Dip a small part of the into nail polish remover. Carefully rub the polish that is on the skin surrounding the nails.
